Songs of Monsignor

The Seven Capital Sins, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, and Saint Peter Claver. If you have ever been to a Mass at John Paul II Catholic High School celebrated by Monsignor Larry Moran, then you are familiar with these songs and so many more that Monsignor has written. Monsignor has a way with turning catechism into a riveting song that has everyone singing. Monsignor has been writing these songs since he was ordained a priest. He writes songs as a way of helping people, and himself, learn their faith, to remember things about God and the Saints, and to remember important dates. It usually takes Monsignor about twenty hours to write a song, and over the years, he has written approximately fifty  songs. Over 1,000 hours have been spent on songs to help people remember; so far, his songs have worked. A couple weeks ago, Monsignor received a phone call from a former student from the days when Monsignor was teaching songs in grade schools. This student called because earlier that day, in the shower, he remembered the Ten Commandments song, a song that Monsignor taught him. Monsignor has taught these songs to schools, adult groups, and grandmothers who wish to teach their grandchildren.  Luckily for us, everyone walks away with the song stuck in their head.
