The staff at John Paul II Catholic High School, teachers and administrators, are not only highly qualified professionally for their positions, but they are required to make certain commitments, which are as follows:

  • To attend Church each week on the Lord's Day
  • Pray in some way every day
  • Regularly receive the Sacrament of Penance every 4-6 weeks for Catholics
  • Make a personal commitment to chastity in accordance with his/her state in life

 Mrs. Sandy McBroom:  Director
Mrs. McBroom graduated from Holy Cross High School in Riverside, NJ  and earned a B.A. in French and a minor in Spanish from Georgian Court College, a Catholic Women's College operated by the Sisters of Mercy, in Lakewood, NJ.  She was the Curriculum Coordinator for John Paul II Catholic High School for 8 years prior to being named Director on July 1, 2008.  Mrs. McBroom was the chief author of the application for accreditation made to the State Department of Education for JPIICHS.  She is married to Tom and they have a son Kris Kraut who graduated from John Paul II Catholic High School in June 2003.  She is an active member of St. Patrick Parish. 

Mr. Ronald Eldred: Social Studies\Religion
Mr. Eldred has been a businessman associated with several companies. One of the companies is a nationally prominent industrial technical training provider. He is a Graduate of Indiana State University with  B.S. in Social Studies and an M.S. in Comprehensive Social Studies. He was a Doctoral Candidate in History and Sociology at the  University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana and taught history and sociology for 13 years at Danville Community College (DCC). He served as Chairman of the Social Studies Department at DCC. He taught in the WED Program at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. Before becoming a college teacher, he taught social studies at Marshall High School for 2 years and coached junior high basketball. He formerly taught religion at St. Patrick Middle School. He was an instructor while in the U.S. Air Force. Ron has been a faithful supporter of JPIICHS.  He has volunteered to teach religion and history for all the years of the school's existence.  He was an important contributor to the application for accreditation sent to the State Dept. of Education.  Mr. Eldred is married and he and his wife, Lana, have 9 children and 30 grandchildren. He attends St. Patrick Parish.

 Mrs. Eileen Kearschner:  Spanish I, II & III
Mrs. Kearschner has a Bachelors Degree from Indiana State University (graduated cum laude) in Spanish and Latin Education and a Masters Degree from ISU in Spanish & Latin Education. She is a Certified teacher in the State of Indiana. She has earned additional credits for courses in Latin American history at ISU. She has 37 years experience in teaching Spanish and Latin in the Southwest Parke Community School Corporation and Staunton Jr./ Sr. High School. She attends Christus Victor Church.
 Monsignor Larry Moran: Chaplain & Founding Pastor
Msgr. Moran is the Founding Pastor of John Paul II Catholic High.  As pastor of St. Patrick Parish he worked, with Cindy Martin and Mark & Susan Fuson, to gain the support of the people of Terre Haute  for the establishment of a Catholic high school.  He granted permission for the school to be located in the lower level of St. Patrick's Rectory and named the school, John Paul II Catholic High. He is presently retired from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis but serves as chaplain to the Carmelite nuns, school chaplain and is the most important member of our Board of Governors and as our recruiter/fund-raiser and #1 supporter for the school.

 Mr. Jerry Wagner: Physics
Dr. Wagner received his B.S. in Physics from the University of Cincinnati in 1963, his M.S. in Physics from Xavier University in 1965, and his Ph.D. in Physics in 1971. He has been a Professor of Physics at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for the past thirty years. Dr. Wagner has taught for John Paul II Catholic High for 11 years.  He and his wife, Susan, have four children and have been members of St. Patrick's Parish since 1984.

Mr. Steve Junker:  Trig & Pre-Calc & Chemistry
Mr. Junker is a graduate of West Vigo High School and holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  He has worked as a Laboratory Technician, a Product Development Engineer and was Plant Manager at Tredegar Film Products.  He presently is working as a real estate appraiser with Junker Realty in West Terre Haute.  Mr. Junker is a member of Sacred Heart of Clinton Parish.
